We make our lovely maple syrup using the sap we collect from Maple trees on the side of the Niagara Escarpment, just West of Meaford, ON. The farm has a beautiful view of Georgian Bay. When the weather is good, Collingwood is visible from the sugar house!

The location and elevation that provides us with the view also means that we receive a lot of snow. This past weekend was a prime example as we received a huge amount. The forecast indicated up to 82 cm would fall and we likely exceeded that. Fortunately, there were some short breaks on both Saturday and Sunday so we were able to clear the driveway enough to keep the depth manageable.

Yesterday, it warmed a bit and the sun made an appearance so we did some more digging. Now comes the noisy process of snow sliding off the roofs of the house and sugar house.
